UN Global Compact Network India is pleased to announce the 12th National Convention on the theme of Making Global Goals Local Business - India on 28th April, 2017 at Le -Meridien, New Delhi. The theme of the convention revolves around the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially how the corporate sector is contributing/can contribute towards the achievement of some of these ambitious goals. There is a broad consensus that governments on their own will not be able to meet these goals. However, there are key roles that government departments and agencies need to play to ensure that businesses can operate efficiently to meet these goals. The objective will be to highlight major challenges that India face in the current times, and ways in which businesses can create shared value that drives mainstream business agenda for them while creating a positive social impact.

We have the intellectual solutions, we have the policy framework to achieve Global Goals;- What we need now is change on the ground. Not Just a few big companies, but thousands of companies to adopt these models. Let's ' Make Global Goals Local Business' in India successful
Going it alone can only have a limited impact in the fight against corruption. If real progress is to be made, as many stakeholders as possible must act in concert and form alliances, globally and locally. This is, what we call Collective Action- creating a level playing field for clean and great business for the benefit of all.
UN Global Compact, we have made it our top priority to translate the Sustainable Development Goals into responsible and innovative business practices. In 2016, we launched our Making Global Goals Local Business campaign- helping companies to see both their responsibilities and opportunities around the SDGs. Globally and on the ground through our 80 Local Networks, companies are responding to the SDG vision and seeing the Global Goals as a guiding star for a sustainable world, where no one is left behind. Together, we can give a human face to the global market and show that companies that do business responsibly and innovate around the SDGs will be the market leaders of tomorrow.
In a world where implementation of SDGs has become crucial, the localization of SDGs and importance of partnerships across all levels of government and civil society is taking giant strides. 'Glocalization' is then the buzzword and the 'Global goals' should be the benchmark around which local businesses operate.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is a historic turning point towards an inclusive, integrated and sustainable world, requiring collaborative efforts of Government, corporates and civil society. Corporates in particular, need to respond with innovative business models, technologies and products to scale up this effort. YES BANK, through its 'Responsible Banking' ethos, is committed to build 'the Finest Quality Bank of the World in India by 2020', in which its business objectives are seamlessly integrated with social and environmental responsibilities and geared towards achieving global SDGs.
